China–BRICS Scientific, Innovation, and Industrial Partnership (SIIP): Projects and Achievements
Since its inception, the China–BRICS Scientific, Innovation, and Industrial Partnership (China-BRICS SIIP) has engaged in extensive collaborations with BRICS member countries and international institutions. The goal of these collaborations is to strengthen joint scientific and technological innovation pathways and to develop new ideas within the BRICS framework.
Joint Events and Initiatives
The initiative promotes the organization of an annual special event hosted by the rotating BRICS presidency, dedicated to showcasing achievements. Over time, this event is becoming an annual brand for China-BRICS SIIP.
Scientific and Technological Projects and Collaborations
Collaboration with Universities and Research Institutions
The initiative has launched innovative joint projects in cooperation with universities, research institutions, and technology transfer entities in BRICS member countries, including:
- Novosibirsk State Technical University
- King Saud University
- Sharif University of Technology
Technology Transfer Centers in Xiamen
The joint objective of these partnerships is to establish technology transfer centers in Xiamen, China. To date, over 30 projects have been defined in areas such as advanced materials, artificial intelligence, and biomedical sciences.
BRICS Cardiovascular Health Innovation Center
The BRICS Cardiovascular Health Innovation Center (BCHIC) was launched under the initiative of Xiamen Heart Hospital affiliated with Xiamen University. Several projects related to cardiovascular medical devices are also underway within this framework.
Collaboration Network and Human Resource Development
Establishing a Scientific Collaboration Network
China-BRICS SIIP is committed to establishing a network among universities and science parks of member countries. This network is designed to create a dynamic database of scientific achievements and skilled human resources.
Talent-Oriented Events
Regular events are organized to match talent with achievements and specialized training programs annually, enhancing the exchange and development of innovative human resources among BRICS countries.
