BRICS University Network and the Expansion of Academic Cooperation

The BRICS University Network was established in 2015 and has since expanded steadily, currently comprising 56 active universities. With the accession of new BRICS member countries such as Iran, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Ethiopia, the number of educational and research institutions participating in this academic and scientific network continues to grow.

Expansion of Member Universities

The BRICS University Network seeks to increase the number of member universities in each BRICS country to 20 institutions. Through enhanced scientific cooperation among governments, universities, and research centers, the network aims to strengthen capacities for knowledge production, innovation, and academic collaboration across member states.

Developed Scientific Fields

In recent years, the academic fields covered by the BRICS University Network have expanded significantly. In addition to core scientific disciplines, new areas such as sustainable agriculture, food security, natural sciences, mathematics, humanities, and health sciences have been incorporated into the network’s educational and research framework.
