In the latest developments of the global innovation and investment ecosystem, China has attracted growing attention as one of the most promising markets for technology development and startups. Through strong support for national technologies and venture capital funds, particularly in robotics and artificial intelligence, China plans major investments in humanoid robotics and AI-driven projects.

After the extraordinary investment surges during the COVID-19 period, the global venture capital market has reached relative stability. Global investment volumes declined from a record USD 643 billion in 2021 to USD 330 billion in 2024; however, the first half of 2025 shows a 25 percent increase compared to 2024.

Artificial intelligence has emerged as the primary focus of investment, accounting for nearly one-third of total global venture capital in 2024. In recent years, innovation ecosystems—particularly within BRICS countries and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization—have increasingly concentrated on cross-border capital flows and international collaboration.

Against this backdrop, the first Moscow International Innovation Summit is scheduled for October 2025, bringing together more than 600 investors and over 150 speakers. The event will offer startups opportunities to present pilot projects and receive investment proposals, while companies and investors will be able to engage directly with innovative initiatives.

The summit and its accompanying technology exhibition aim to integrate Moscow’s innovation ecosystem with advanced technological infrastructure—especially in artificial intelligence—through cooperation with BRICS and SCO countries. Notably, around 13 percent of participating startups have identified China as their preferred destination for international expansion, and in 2024 China ranked among the top ten destinations for international founders, underscoring its growing importance in the global innovation landscape.
