PARADIGM Project: BRICS Collaboration in Oceanography and Polar Studies
Project Overview
The PARADIGM project consortium brought together scientists from all five BRICS countries to study the oceans in order to improve forecasting and support the United Nations’ Ocean Decade initiatives for sustainable development.
Researchers used data from BRICS countries to evaluate and compare existing Ocean Forecast and Analysis Systems (OFAS) and organized seminars and workshops to build scientific capacity across member states.
Objectives and Activities
The project aimed to develop ocean analysis systems, assess international datasets, and forecast ocean conditions to support sustainable development projects.
Capacity Building and International Cooperation
PARADIGM strengthened international collaboration and enhanced scientific capacity in BRICS countries, paving the way for future research interactions.
