SUS ENVIRONMENT’s Waste-to-Energy Technology Triumphs at BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest 2025

China Shines at the BRICS 2025 Industrial Innovation Competition in Waste-to-Energy Technology

With the aim of promoting green development, improving energy efficiency, and reducing carbon emissions in the waste management sector, the Chinese company SUS ENVIRONMENT won first prize in the Green Industry category at the BRICS 2025 Industrial Innovation Competition. The award was granted for its technological project entitled “Key Technologies and Applications for Low-Carbon and Efficient Waste-to-Energy Conversion.”

This achievement, which represents the only first prize awarded in the green industry category and the company’s first international recognition in the field of science and technology, has further consolidated SUS ENVIRONMENT’s position as a global pioneer in environmental technologies and intelligent waste management.

The winning project was highly praised by the jury due to its internationally advanced technologies, extensive implementation experience both inside and outside China, and strong commercialization potential. The core technologies of the project include clean waste incineration, efficient energy utilization, gaseous pollutant control, and low-carbon solutions—areas that, according to leading experts, have reached a global level of excellence.

These technologies have already been successfully deployed in several countries, including Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Uzbekistan, demonstrating high efficiency across diverse climatic conditions.

The significance of this achievement goes beyond a single corporate success. The BRICS award not only symbolizes China’s technological strength in the environmental sector but also reflects the growing global influence of Chinese environmental innovation enterprises. According to the competition organizers, the selected projects will be included in the BRICS Industrial Cooperation Database and will benefit from dedicated investment planning and financial support services.

It is worth noting that SUS ENVIRONMENT, recognized as one of the world’s leading providers of comprehensive environmental services, had established 11 management centers worldwide by June 2025 and currently delivers environmental and energy services to more than 100 million people. To date, the company has designed and constructed 90 waste-to-energy projects, enabling the daily treatment of nearly 120,000 tons of municipal solid waste and the annual generation of approximately 18,000 gigawatt-hours of green electricity.

In addition, SUS ENVIRONMENT’s equipment and technologies are used in 300 waste incineration plants worldwide, collectively processing more than 300,000 tons of waste per day.
