A Step Forward in Modern Scientific Diplomacy
The 10th BRICS Young Scientists Meeting and 8th Young Innovators Award was held from September 15–17, 2025, in Brasília, Brazil. Iran had a strong and influential presence at this three-day event, which brought together scientific delegations from BRICS member countries, including China, Brazil, Egypt, India, Russia, South Africa, UAE, Ethiopia, and Iran, focusing on three main themes: scientific diplomacy, artificial intelligence, and climate change.
The Center for Transformation and Progress of the Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran, one of the main institutions responsible for expanding Iran’s international cooperation in advanced technologies, sent 12 top young scientists and academics under 40 years old to this global event. Supported by the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, the Iranian delegation presented lectures and research projects on topics including comprehensive modeling of the environmental, economic, and social impacts of COP policies in BRICS countries, technological innovations in water and renewable energy, interdisciplinary climate change studies, biosafety, scientific diplomacy in a changing world, AI solutions for social improvement, and policy recommendations to strengthen scientific collaboration among BRICS nations.
The Iranian delegation’s contributions highlighted the country’s achievements and fostered scientific collaboration among BRICS countries, reinforcing Iran’s role in international scientific diplomacy and technology development.
