BRICS Women Business Alliance and Promoting Women’s Entrepreneurship in Member Countries

The BRICS Women Business Alliance (BRICS WBA) was established in 2020 during Russia’s BRICS presidency. Its main goal is to promote women’s entrepreneurship across BRICS member countries, enhance active female participation in economic processes, and expand national and international women’s business networks.

Structure and National Offices

The alliance has five national offices in Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Each office consists of five women entrepreneurs who have either started their own businesses or serve as CEOs of large companies. The national offices are divided into five specialized working groups:
  • Innovation Development Working Group
  • Healthcare Working Group
  • Inclusive Economy Working Group
  • Food Security and Environmental Safety Working Group
  • Creative Industries and Tourism Working Group

Programs and Initiatives

The BRICS Women Business Alliance implements multiple programs and initiatives. Among the most notable is the BRICS Women Entrepreneurship Forum, which provides a platform for dialogue among representatives of national offices, business circles, social and governmental organizations, and the private sector.

Main Objective of the Forum

The forum aims to foster practical discussions between business communities and governmental stakeholders, examining opportunities and challenges for women’s entrepreneurship in BRICS developing countries.
