Participation Process in BRICS Science, Technology, and Innovation Framework Programme Competitions
Since 2016, six competitive calls have been launched under the BRICS Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Framework Programme, resulting in financial support for 157 selected projects. All projects must be implemented on a multilateral basis with the participation of at least three BRICS countries. Funding agencies provide financial support only for the national component of each project, and the typical project duration ranges from two to three years.
Proposal Submission Process
Submission of the National Proposal to the Funding Agency
Applicants are required to submit their national project proposal to the relevant funding agency in their own country for initial technical and scientific evaluation.
Submission of the Joint Proposal to the Programme Secretariat
In parallel with the national submission, a joint proposal prepared by three to five international partners must be submitted to the BRICS STI Framework Programme Secretariat.
Project Evaluation and Selection Process
Simultaneous Review by National Agencies and the BRICS Secretariat
Following the receipt of proposals, national funding agencies and the BRICS Secretariat conduct parallel evaluations to assess eligibility, scientific quality, and compliance with programme requirements.
Announcement of Projects Eligible for Funding
Proposals that successfully meet the required scientific and technical standards are announced as selected projects eligible for financial support.
