The BRICS New Development Bank follows a conservative approach in disbursing funds for approved projects. By the end of 2021, the bank had approved a total of 82 projects worth $30.7 billion, yet only $14.6 billion had been disbursed. Excluding emergency COVID-19 loans, this figure decreases to $6.4 billion.

Interest rates on the bank’s loans are slightly higher than those of other development institutions. However, due to lower or absent advisory costs, these loans are considered economically competitive. Detailed information on paid loans is presented in the charts below.
