Framework of Proposed Initiatives within the BRICS Group
Within the BRICS group, all initiatives proposed by member countries are approved based on the principle of consensus, and related approaches are formulated accordingly. This consensus is of particular importance, as any initiative that succeeds in gaining the coordinated support of all members is recognized as an official BRICS initiative and becomes eligible for implementation.
If a proposal fails to achieve consensus among the members, it will not be designated as a BRICS initiative; however, countries that support it may proceed with its implementation through multilateral cooperation frameworks. Accordingly, BRICS members seek to foster a democratic environment that enables all countries to propose and implement initiatives at the highest levels.
