BRICS Infrastructure Working Group Recommendations for Transport and Key Infrastructure Development

The Infrastructure Working Group includes subgroups such as Transport and Logistics, Advanced Technology, Mining, Metallurgy, and Pharmaceuticals. Infrastructure development in Eurasia, Africa, and Latin America is one of BRICS’ primary objectives.

Transport and Logistics Projects and Subgroups

The Transport and Logistics subgroup was established in 2024, focusing on identifying and removing logistical barriers, creating key infrastructure such as railways and ports, and developing the North–South Corridor. The working group has proposed initiatives such as knowledge exchange, enhancing technical cooperation, and implementing joint projects.

Addressing Physical and Non-Physical Barriers

  • Creating favorable conditions for project-based activities
  • Attracting financial support and green financing, and establishing appropriate mechanisms for international financial transfers
  • Strengthening BRICS transport communication infrastructure in Africa, especially railways
  • Feasibility study for launching a global logistics platform
  • Continuation of systematic measures to enhance logistical connections and promote mutual trade
  • Updating the BRICS Transport Barriers Guide and developing the BRICS Transport e-communications platform
  • Launching the BRICS Transport Academy and offering training courses, including masterclasses and online programs
