Exploring Opportunities for Joint Cooperation with the BRICS China Academy for Skills Development and Technological Innovation

According to the Center’s International Affairs Department, the meeting was held at the Center for Progress and Development of Iran (CPDI), with the participation of the President of Pardis Technology Park and the President of the National University of Skills. The participants emphasized the importance of leveraging BRICS capacities to address the shared challenges faced by member countries.

Sajjad Ahadzadeh, President of CPDI, highlighted the Center’s role as the national focal point for technology and innovation cooperation with the BRICS group and the mission of the BRICS China Academy for Skills Development and Technological Innovation. He proposed pursuing cooperation in areas such as student and workforce exchange, joint research projects, research in skills education, technology and digital development, and the development of joint curricula aligned with future technology needs in partnership with Iran’s National University of Skills.

Additionally, discussions covered collaboration with Pardis Technology Park in areas including participation in the BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation Alliance, BRICS skills development and innovation competitions, and cooperation in policymaking, innovation, and technological synergy. Joint cooperation on the development of skills and technology standards, as well as BRICS group standards, was also emphasized in coordination with Iran’s Nanotechnology and Microtechnology Development Headquarters.

Subsequently, Liu Zhenying, President of the BRICS China Academy for Skills Development and Technological Innovation, outlined the academy’s main areas of activity. These include international technical skills training, the establishment of a BRICS future skills training base, the creation of a BRICS resource service center, commercialization of research outputs, acceleration and showcasing of innovations, curriculum development, formulation of group standards, and implementation of educational programs such as student and faculty exchanges.

Mr. Liu also welcomed the definition and expansion of joint cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran across all these areas.
