BRICS 2025 Forum on Participation in the New Industrial Revolution
The two-day BRICS 2025 forum, themed on leveraging BRICS’ broader capacities for inclusive and sustainable industrialization,
was held on September 16-17.
Hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT) and the Fujian provincial government,
the event gathered representatives from government agencies, embassies, leading companies, industry associations,
think tanks, and financial institutions from 34 countries, along with international organizations including UNIDO and the New Development Bank (NDB).
The forum highlighted achievements from major collaborative initiatives promoted by President Xi Jinping in recent BRICS meetings
and reviewed the five-year results of the BRICS Innovation Center in the New Industrial Revolution.
During the event, the China Industrial Competence Center for BRICS countries was officially inaugurated, and initial outputs were published.
Achievements from the China-BRICS AI Development and Cooperation Center and the BRICS Digital Industry Ecosystem Network were introduced.
Expansion of international cooperation in new industrialization to 19 competent institutions was announced along with an operational plan.
The forum included six sub-sections: smart manufacturing and robotics, renewable energy, industrial design, pharmaceutical industry,
innovation in industrial technologies, and the digital industry ecosystem, presenting a wide range of practical outcomes.
Additional activities included the Jinlu Scholarship Program for education in emerging industries, the BRICS Industrial Innovation Competition,
the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Exhibition, and the General Assembly of the Global AI Alliance in Industry and Production.
